Vacation

School's out - well, it's been done for a couple of weeks now, and the girls are spending the week with my mom, so I'm on vacation. Needless to say, I'll not be doing a crock pot meal this week because I'm going to try and do as little cooking as possible. Okay, if I'm being honest, I'm going to try and do as little of everything as possible.
Now if I could just hit a pause buttton on all the zuchinni coming out of the garden. :D
I offered to send some along with the girls, but mom chastised me for, "...using that four letter word." You know the one - it starts with a C, ends with a K, and it's why most people have a kitchen. Mom's kitchen is for storing all her take out menus, so as you may expect, I sill have 6 zuchinni in my kitchen and the plants are threatening more in the immediate future. It's a good thing frozen, shredded zuchinni has many uses.

I hope you are all enjoying your summer and I'll be back next week.

  2. Well! Reporting your mom's private cooking practices on the internet.

I'm going to tell the girls about stuff you did when you were a kid........

  3. Mom,
You already tell the kids about stuff I did when I was little. It's completely unfair too. It gives them all kinds of ideas and makes them say things like, "But mom (in that really drawn out way), you did it when you were little." Or, "It's not as bad as when you did ___________."
If it helps I will publicly aknowledge that you cooked more often than not when I was a child and that you were pretty darn good at it. And you do make the absolute best fudge in the world.

    Kids,
You would be far more shocked and amazed if I didn't. Besides, many of you were doing a count down to when you would be at Mom's and one of you called me, in a really pathetic manner, bugging me about when I was going to be home so Grandma could come. And don't forget Ri, that particular sister was ready to leave without you.

I love you all!!!!! Really, I do. Absence does make the heart grow fonder you know. :D
